GAMEDAY: TOSS A TEDDY AS SPITFIRES HOST RANGERS

Sun Life & CI Investments present annual holiday event
The Spitfires look to build on the momentum of a big divisional win as they host the Kitchener Rangers in Sunday matinee (2:05) action at the WFCU Centre.
Brendan Lemieux had a natural hat-trick and Michael DiPietro made 29 saves for his first Ontario Hockey League shutout, as the Spitfires beat the Sting 3-0 in Sarnia Friday, snapping a five-game losing streak in the process.
Lemieux has been a revelation since General Manager Warren Rychel acquired him in a trade with the Barrie Colts Thursday. In two games, the 19-year-old Winnipeg Jets prospect has four goals and an assist along a whopping 14 shots on goal.
He and his Windsor (17-9-5-0) teammates face a tough test in a Kitchener (23-3-3-0) club that has won five straight and has allowed the fewest goals against (66) in the entire OHL.
It’s the second meeting of the season between the clubs. The Spitfires took a dramatic, 2-1 overtime win in Kitchener back on October 9th, thanks to Christian Fischer’s game-winning goal with less than a second to play in the extra session.
TOSS A TEDDY BEAR
Sun Life Financial & CI Investments are proud to present our annual Teddy Bear Toss event.
Fans are asked to bring a new teddy bear and to throw it on the ice when the Spitfires score their first goal of the game. The bears will be collected and distributed to local kids in need by Windsor Fire & Rescue.
