Spitfires centre Brady Vail says, despite their unusually slow start, there’s nothing to take lightly about the club’s home-and-home series that begins tonight (WFCU Centre, 7:05) against the Plymouth Whalers.
“It’s good to have the first one at home,” Vail told Sarah Ryrie in our TekSavvy GameDay Insider. “We’ve been playing really well at home of late. But our plan really is just to get ready for tonight’s game. We know how these guys play.”
Plymouth (7-11-0-0) comes in on a two-game skid and with only four wins in their past ten; but are still just four points back of the Spits for second in the West Division.

SPITS LOOKING FOR SIXTH STRAIGHT WIN
Windsor (9-6-0-0) has had no trouble of the sort lately, racking up five consecutive wins with strong all around play.
The Spits have filled the net (27 GF, 5.4 per game) while spending a lot of time in the other team’s zone during the streak; so they haven’t given up much either (13 GA, 2.6 per game).
Scoring continues to be balanced.
Nine skaters have ten points or better through 15 games. Four of those are defencemen.
The combination of Slater Koekkoek, Nick Ebert, Eric Diodati and Trevor Murphy has a total of 9 goals and 31 assists, along with a stellar +42 rating.
All four are in the OHL’s Top 20 in scoring among defencemen. No other club has four dmen with 10 or more points.
