Since coming over from the Erie Otters in a trade last week, Chris Marchese (mar-KAY-zee) has displayed the type of high-end offensive skill that made him a first-round pick in the 2010 OHL Draft.
Marchese had 3 goals and 2 assists in his first two games as a Spitfire; a performance that has earned him Tecumseh and South Walkerville Vision Centres Player of the Week honours, for the week ended Sunday, December 18th.
The 17-year-old got started with his first three-point game in the OHL, with a goal and two assists in his Spitfire debut – a 6-4 home loss to Owen Sound.
Two nights later, Marchese scored twice in a 5-4 loss at Saginaw.
His three goals are already half as many as he had in 29 games with Erie.
“Chris is a high-end skill guy that is learning to play the right way on both sides of the puck,” GM Warren Rychel told windsorspitfires.com. “He’s shown me a lot in his first couple of games. He’s a guy our coaching staff will lean on heavily in the second half.”
