(Mississauga, ON) – Nicholas Canade broke up a tie game with less than five minutes to play, as the Steelheads took a 3-2 win over the Spitfires Friday night at the Hershey Centre.
Kirill Kozhevnikov (4) scored for the second time in as many nights and Cole Purboo had his team-leading 12th, as Windsor (19-12-2-1) failed to win its 20th game by the official halfway point of the regular season (34 games).
Michael DiPietro made 26 saves in the loss while Emanuel Vella faced just 23 shots.
The Spits wrap the 2017 portion of their schedule hosting the Saginaw Spirit in a New Year’s Eve Day matinee (1:05) on Sunday.
