Tour the Renovated Aud on February 13
On Wednesday, February 13 from 4:30-6 p.m, the City of Kitchener invites the public to view the new and improved Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.
“We are extremely proud of our newly renovated facility” said Mayor Carl Zehr. “We met a very aggressive construction timeline, and because of our strong collaborative relationship with the Kitchener Rangers, this was able to be done in a timely and successful manner”.
There will be tours of the newly renovated facility, including the Kitchener Rangers’ dressing room. Tours will begin at 4:45 p.m. and run every 15 minutes thereafter. Kitchener Rangers players will be in attendance, and refreshments and snacks will also be available.
“The Aud Expansion Project is a testament to our hockey club’s tradition of collaboration with the City of Kitchener to improve the experience for our fans,” explains Craig Campbell, President of the Board of Directors for the Kitchener Rangers Hockey Club.
“The newly-renovated Kitchener Memorial Auditorium is the result of the hard work and dedication of many, and we are grateful to all those who contributed to its completion. As we celebrate our 50th Anniversary season, the Kitchener Rangers are proud to welcome fans to this world-class facility and offer thanks to the City for their partnership.”
The expansion added nearly 1,000 seats to the arena’s capacity, as well as:
• A third-level concourse
• A fourth-level: Legends Level featuring the Rangers NHL Personnel & Media Lounge as well as private lounges
• Concessions
• Washrooms
• Renovated Rangers facilities that include the dressing room, medical, training and administrative office space.
Don’t forget to also visit The Aud’s new microsite at www.theaud.ca. The site offers a sleeker, more modern look; improved navigation, and better integration of tools, such as the calendar and news features, with the city’s corporate site, www.kitchener.ca.
