Spirit take 4-1 Win Over Rangers
Ivan Telegin scored the game-winning goal for the Saginaw Spirit in a 4-1 win over the Kitchener Rangers at the Dow Event Center.
Jordan Szwarz scored his 18th goal of the season to give the Spirit a 1-0 lead at 6:50 of the first period.
After a scoreless second period Ivan Telegin increased Saginaw’s lead 2-0 by the 8:13 mark of the third period. Kitchener’s Andrew Crescenzi replied to make it a one-goal game at 11:56. Vincent Trocheck scored just under 4-minutes later to regain the Spirits two goal lead. Saginaw’s top goal scorer Josh Shalla made it 4-1 with an empty net goal at 19:28.
The Rangers travel to Sault Ste. Marie, Sunday, January 16th for a 7:00pm stint against the Greyhounds. They return to home ice on Friday, January 21st to host the Oshawa Generals.
