Roy & Eminger invited to World Juniors Camp

Kitchener, ON: The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) & Canadian Hockey Association (CHA) recently announced the invitations of two Kitchener Rangers to Canada’s National Junior Teams Development Camp in August 2002. The camp is part of the selection process for the 2003 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship being held from December 26, 2002 through January 5, 2003 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Rangers leading scorer last season Derek Roy and projected 1st round pick in this years NHL Entry Draft D Steve Eminger will represent Kitchener at the camp. Both were members of the 2000 National Under 18 team that won gold in the Czech Republic.r

The team will get together from August 10-20 for a nine day development camp in Halifax, NS with Head Coach Marc Habscheid of the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets.

The camp includes 44 invites from the CHL including 13 players from the Ontario Hockey League, 19 from the WHL, 10 from QMJHL, 1 from U.S. College and 1 from the U.S. Junior ranks.
