Rangers Win 4 In-A-Row On Home Ice
Jason Akeson’s five points led the Kitchener Rangers to a 7-1 victory over the Sarnia Sting.
Tobias Rieder scored on a shot to the top of the Sting’s net at 3:28 that gave the Rangers a 1-0 lead. Less than a minute later, Gabriel Landeskog fed the puck to Ryan Murphy who scored his 22nd of the season to make it 2-0. Akeson buried a one-timer at the 14:19 mark to put Kitchener up by 3-0. Rieder closed first period scoring 4-0 Rangers with his second of the game at 17:01.
Akeson marked his second goal of the evening at 0:45 of the second period. He deflected a Cody Sol shot past the Sting’s Troy Passingham. Tyler Randell made it 6-0 Kitchener after he netted a backhander at the 2:59 mark. The remainder of the period was scoreless.
Jerry D’Amigo backhanded his third goal of the season past Sarnia netminder Brandon Hope at the midway mark of the third period to up the score 7-0 Kitchener. The Sting’s Jack Kuzmyk put an end to Rangers’ goaltender Mike Morrison’s shutout bid with a goal at 13:01.

The Rangers travel to Saginaw tomorrow, Saturday, February 12th to take on the Spirit at 7:11pm. They then continue on to Sault Ste. Marie for a 7:00pm game on Sunday versus the Greyhounds.
