Rangers Stop Battalion

Kitchener ON: The Kitchener Rangers headed out on the road this afternoon for a tilt with the Brampton Battalion. The afternoon again saw another strong game by the Rangers who battled the Battalion through two periods to a 2-2 tie. Despite playing their 7th game in 12 days, the Rangers continued their hard work in the 3rd and were rewarded with 3 goals on way to a 5-2 victory, extending their winning streak to 9 games.

Mike Duco scored the only goal in the first, going top shelf on Patrick Killeen of the Battalion just 22 seconds into the game.

Mike Lomas of the Battalion ties the game at 11:56 on a breakaway. Scott Timmins answered back when he tucks one from the side of the net to give the Rangers a 2-1 lead at the end of two periods.

Battalion John de Gray tied the game on a three on two rush with a great shot high to the blocker side of Josh Unice early in the 3rd period. The Rangers took control when Justin Azevedo scored twice in a three minute span to give the Rangers a 4-2 lead. Mikkel Boedker closed out the scoring when he picked up a rebound off a Dan Kelly shot at the 12:23 mark of the 3rd period.

The Rangers improved their overall record to 15-2 and continue their current 5 game road trip on Friday in Kingston.
