Rangers fall 5-4 to Knights
London Knights Philip McRae scored with 1:35 left in the game to edge the Kitchener Rangers 5-4.
Garett Hunter scored the lone goal of the first period at 18:02 to put London up 1-0.
Jared Knight opened up the second period with a quick goal at 0:44 that increased the Knights lead 2-0. Rangers’ Chris MacKinnon replied on the Rangers power play to make it a one-goal game. Michael Catenacci tied the score at 2 at the 13:41 mark. MacKinnon beat London’s Michael Hutchinson lower glove side to give the Rangers their first lead of the game 3-2.
London’s Zac Rinaldo scored his fifth goal of the season early in the third period to level out the score 3-3. Julian Cimadamore answered back to give the Rangers back a one-goal lead. The Knights went on to score two back to back power play markers that gave them a 5-4 win over the Rangers. Stephen Sanza scored midway through the period followed by Philip McRae at the 18:25 mark.
The Rangers travel to Windsor this Sunday to face the Windsor Spitfires at 2:00pm.
