Power Play Leads Rangers to Victory
The Kitchener Rangers won their fifth in a row with a 4-1 victory over the Sarnia Sting.
Chris MacKinnon opened up scoring with a power play marker at the 7:52 mark of the first period. This was his ninth goal of the season. Sarnia’s Kale Kerbashian answered back to tie the score 1-1 with 23 seconds remaining in the period.
The second period was scoreless.
Jason Akeson put Kitchener up 2-1 at the midway point of the second period, another power play goal for the Rangers. The Sting’s Joe Rogalski took a 4-minute high sticking penalty on Jeff Skinner, only to see Jeremy Morin and Chris MacKinnon score power play goals 39-seconds apart to give the Rangers a 4-1 margin.
The Rangers travel to Peterborough on Thursday, November 5th to face the Petes at 7:00pm. They return to The Aud Friday, November 6th to face the Windsor Spitfires. Game time is 7:30pm.
