OHL Coaches Poll Results
Toronto, ON: The Ontario Hockey League today announced the results of the 2003-04 Coaches Poll.

Patrick O’Sullivan of the Mississauga IceDogs led the way in the Eastern Conference with three category wins, including Most Dangerous in the Goal Area, Best Shot and Best Stickhandler while Corey Locke of the Ottawa 67’s (Smartest Player and Best Playmaker) and Tim Brent of the Toronto St. Michael’s Majors (Best on Face-offs and Best Penalty Killer) also won multiple categories. Locke led the Eastern Conference by being named among the top three in five different categories.

In the Western Conference, Daniel Paille of the Guelph Storm was named the top player in three categories – Hardest Worker, Best Body Checker and Best Defensive Forward. Corey Perry of the London Knights (Most Dangerous in Goal Area and Best Stickhandler), Martin St. Pierre of the Guelph Storm (Best Playmaker and Best on Face-offs) and Plymouth Whalers blueliner James Wisniewski (Best Shot and Best Offensive Defenceman) also won multiple categories. Paille and Kitchener Rangers captain Michael Richards were each named in a conference-high four categories.

The OHL Coaches Poll provides team coaches and managers with the opportunity to recognize players in several skill categories within their own conference. The top three players in each category from the Eastern and Western Conferences are recognized.

Coaches vote for each category within their conference and are not permitted to vote for players on their team. Players receive five points for a first place vote, three points for a second place vote and one point for a third place vote. Player can receive a maximum of 45 voting points.
