Next Gen Game

It’s Back: The kids are taking over on January 4th!

The Kitchener Rangers Next Generation Hockey Game is an exciting and interactive experience for kids ages 12 and under!

In this family–friendly game, kids help out the Rangers staff at various levels of the game operations and experience the thrill of being a part of a Rangers game.

From helping the trainers on the Rangers bench to introducing the team, kids get to be a part of all the action.

With plenty of fun for everyone, the Kitchener Rangers Next Generation Hockey Game is a great way to introduce kids to the exciting world of hockey.

Successful next-gen applicants receive two complimentary tickets for the game. Applications closed December 28th.

Mini Coach

Qualifications:

Leadership qualities
Good communicator
Positive Attitude with the ability to inspire others
Interest in becoming a coach

Responsibilities:

Go between the benches during warmups
Join the coaches for the pre-game player meeting
Talk with the players in the dressing room prior to the game about what needs to be achieved and announce starting line-up
Go on the bench during pre-game for the anthem and ceremonies

Mini Trainer

Qualifications:

Positive attitude
Always looking to help out
Desire to become a trainer in the sports world

Responsibilities:

Help get the room ready for the game
Assist equipment manager with any duties as required
Assist at a Rangers warmup
Stand on Rangers Bench for pre-game ceremonies on January 4th

Jr. PA Announcer

Qualifications:

Great communicator, a strong voice, and an ability to cause excitement for others
An interest in public speaking, radio, or journalism
Great with the spotlight and speaking in front of a large crowd

Responsibilities:

Welcome the Kitchener Rangers onto the ice
Make any announcements in-game as necessary, including Rangers goal calls
Announce the Three Stars of the Game

Jr. Reporter

Qualifications:

Great communicator, a strong voice, and ability to ask relevant questions
An interest in public speaking, radio, or journalism
Great with the spotlight and speaking in front of a large crowd

Responsibilities:

Participate in interviews with local media and players during the game
Come up with relevant questions to ask players or Rangers staff

Jr. Host

Qualifications:

Great communicator, a strong voice, and an ability to cause excitement for others
Likes to be on camera and on the videoboard
An interest in public speaking, radio, journalism, or game operations
Great with the spotlight and speaking in front of a large crowd

Responsibilities:

Assist with fun in-game activations for fans
Read any promotions as required
Help with shoot-outs at intermission

Future Rangers (Starting Line-up)

Qualifications:

Interest in hockey and becoming a member of the Kitchener Rangers or an OHL player
Currently playing hockey at some level in the Waterloo area
Positive attitude and leadership qualities
Comfortable going on ice in front of a large crowd

Responsibilities:

Stand next to our starting line-up for the pre-game ceremonies on January 4th
Tell us what position and team you play for and submit a photo for use on social media
Each player selected receives a signed puck from one member of the starting line-up
Get a tour of the dressing room before the game

Anthem Singer

Qualifications:

Interest and talent in music and singing
Comfortable going on ice and performing in front of a large crowd

Responsibilities:

Ability to sing both the Canadian and American National Anthems
Submit a video or demo tape of a singing performance
