Eastwood, 26, comes to Kitchener after spending the last three seasons playing professional hockey for the Toronto Six, a member of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). Impressively, Eastwood played a key role in leading the Six to capture the 2023 Isobel Cup, the championship trophy awarded annually to PHF’s playoff winner, where she then retired to join the Rangers. Eastwood recorded 28 points (4G, 24A) in 50 professional regular season games as a defenceman for the Six. Of note, she also scored the first-ever goal in franchise history for the Toronto Six.
Prior to her time playing professionally, Eastwood played NCAA Division I women’s hockey at Syracuse University (N.Y.), where she was a three-year captain of the Orange. Eastwood helped lead Syracuse to the College Hockey America’s (CHA) Women’s Ice Hockey Tournament Championship for the first time, and the Orange’s first-ever bid to the NCAA Women’s Ice Hockey Tournament. Eastwood studied Communications while minoring in Sports Management at Syracuse University. She also earned her Master’s in Television, Radio, Film with a Sports Emphasis from the accredited Newhouse School of Public Communication at Syracuse University.
Off the ice, Eastwood was most recently an associate producer at Sportsnet, where she was a key team member in bringing the daily show, Sportsnet Central, to life. Before that, Eastwood was the marketing and content creator for CIMCO Refrigeration, an industrial refrigeration company that is a leader in the mechanics behind professional ice arena surfaces today. Additionally, Eastwood oversaw the social media accounts and content for the Ford FANatic program, a renowned partnership between Ford Canada and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Eastwood was also a producer on the project management team at Critical Mass, an award-winning full-service digital experience design agency that oversaw digital marketing projects for storied companies such as BAND-AID and Nissan Canada.
