LAVENDER STICK ACTION IS FRIDAY
The Kitchener Rangers will be sticking it to cancer on Friday, February 21, 2014 with the Annual Special Edition Game-Used Lavender Stick Auction.
Rangers’ players will take to the ice with specially designed lavender sticks to raise awareness about cancer in our community and pay tribute to those who are dealing or who have dealt with the disease.
Fans can take home one of these unique, autographed game-used sticks by placing their bid in the Rangers’ game day silent auction. Each player’s stick will be available in the auction, which will open at 6:00 pm, when the doors open for the Rangers game against the Owen Sound Attack. In addition, the Rangers will also be auctioning off a full team-autographed stick, featuring the signatures of every member of the roster.
The auction will be held in the Subscribers Lounge of the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex. Bidding closes 10 minutes after the end of the game. Winners will be notified by phone.
All proceeds from the auction will be donated to HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre. Since 1995, people with cancer in Waterloo, Kitchener, Cambridge and the surrounding area have found inspiration, information, and empowerment at HopeSpring Cancer Support Centre. Their programs and services are confidential, free of charge, and open to people at all stages of treatment and their caregivers. For more information on Hope Spring please visit www.hopespring.ca.
