Landeskog Draft
Gabriel Landeskog didn’t have to wait long to hear his name called at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. The Colorado Avalanche selected the Rangers captain with the 2nd overall pick.
Landeskog tallied 36 goals and 30 assists for 66 points in 53 regular season games with the Rangers in 2010-11, his second year with the club. He also picked up six goals and four assists in seven playoff games. He was a member of Team Sweden at the 2011 World Junior Hockey Championships but was limited to one game after suffering an injury.
As a rookie in 2009-10, Landeskog recorded 46 points (24 goals and 22 assists) in 61 games and went on to score 23 points (eight goals, 15 assists) in 20 playoff games as the Rangers reached the Western Conference Final.
