The Ontario Hockey League today announced the exhibition game schedule for the 2016-17 season, which sees the Rangers play a ‘home-and-home’ series with both the Mississauga Steelheads and the Niagara IceDogs.
The Rangers will host their first of four exhibition games when they welcome the Steelheads to the Aud for a 2pm puckdrop on Sunday, September 4th, preceeded by the team’s annual Fan Fest and Barbecue which begins at 11am. The Fan Fest and Barbecue will also take place just outside of the Aud and is free for all fans to attend. For more info on the event, click here.
The Rangers then take to the road for their second game of the preseason – also against the Steelheads – when they meet at the Mattamy Athletic Centre (formerly Maple Leaf Gardens) in Toronto on Wednesday, September 7th at 7pm.
On Friday, September 9th the Rangers play host to the Niagara IceDogs at the Aud for a 7:30pm start before capping off their exhibition schedule with another meeting versus the IceDogs. That final game will take place the next day, Saturday, September 10th at 3pm at the Beamsville Arena.
The full exhibition schedule includes 44 games beginning on Friday, September 2nd and ending on Tuesday, September 13th, 2016.

The Erie Otters will also face the London Knights off-site in Clinton, while the exhibition schedule also includes inter-league play between the Ottawa 67’s and the QMJHL’s Gatineau Olympiques.
The 680-game OHL regular season opens on Wednesday September 21, 2016, while the Rangers open up the 2016-17 campaign at home to the Flint Firebirds on Friday, September 23rd.
