Joseph Serpa commits to OHL Standard Player Agreement
The Kitchener Rangers announced today that forward Joseph Serpa has committed to an Ontario Hockey League standard player agreement with the Club.
The 16-year-old, Cambridge, ON native was the 4th round, 77th overall pick by the Rangers in the 2018 OHL Priority Selection.
Prior to being selected by the Rangers in this year’s draft, the 5’8”, 140lb centre was a member of the Cambridge Hawks AAA where he posted 14 goals and 40 points in 33 regular season games. He also added seven goals and 11 points in 12 playoff games.
Serpa skated with Team ALLIANCE in this past spring’s OHL Gold Cup, and also participated in the OHL Cup in Kitchener with the Hawks. In both tournaments, he registered four points in four games played.
“Since the day we drafted Joseph, his energy and excitement to become a Kitchener Ranger have been more than apparent,” said Rangers general manager Mike McKenzie.
“We are happy to welcome another talented, local player into our Rangers family, and look forward to seeing Joseph’s continued development in the years to come.”
