Eminger Selected 12th Overall

Kitchener, ON: The Washington Capitals selected Kitchener Rangers defenceman Steve Eminger with their #1 selection, 12th overall in the 2002 National Hockey League Entry Draft on Saturday at the Air Canada Centre.

Last year with the Rangers Eminger scored 19 times and added 39 assists in 64 games. He finished 5th in the Ontario Hockey League in scoring for defencemen.
