Do not adjust your set
I’ve always been told that I have a face for radio and am better off heard than seen. I’m perfectly OK with that but, in this fast-paced high-tech world, things had to change eventually. Tomorrow night at the game against Owen Sound you’ll find out just how much.
I just got back from our first video shoot at The Aud. The idea is to give you just a little more behind-the-scenes access about your Rangers and what goes on off the ice. By the way, not that it’s in any way related, but I absolutely love the feel of an empty hockey arena. Don’t get me wrong, you guys make the building rock like no other during games and it’s fantastic. But there’s just something about an empty arena, before the magic happens. It’s one of my favourite things about being a part of this game, even in my small way. I love walking out into the arena and looking around at the emptiness before we get to work for the day. Nothing like it in the world.
Anyway, the video shoot. We had a great chat with Paul Fixter that will become something you see on the videoboard during games and as part of enhanced coverage here on the website. This week’s feature will be the first of many and we really hope you enjoy them. If you don’t, send your complaints to the office. I belong on the radio anyway. 🙂
Oh, one more thing. TSN was in the building today doing a story with Spotter. Not sure what their angle was (Skinner, Murphy?) but he was doing national TV while I was doing in-house video today. So you’ll catch the coach’s mug on TV sometime soon, I’m sure.
