Ben Fanelli Update

The Kitchener Rangers Hockey Club confirmed this morning that Rangers defenceman Ben Fanelli will begin taking part in full practice drills effective this afternoon. Fanelli has been skating with the Club since September but has not participated in any contact drills.

“For both our organization and Ben’s family, the focus has been on Ben’s recovery and will remain unchanged as Ben makes another positive step forward. We will continue to provide updates for our fans and media when they happen and continue to refrain from making specific comments on his progress,” stated Rangers C.O.O. Steve Bienkowski. “Our fans and media have been acceptable of this during the past year and I have no doubt it has benefited Ben.”

Head Coach and General Manager Steve Spott commented that, “this is a positive step for Ben and we are pleased that he continues to make progress, however it is important to note that there is no timeline for Ben to return to game play.” He went on to say, “our team looks forward to having him on the ice with us on a daily basis.”
