Rangers Team up with Ontario Pork for Valentine’s Day Game Tomorrow
Kitchener, ON – In celebration of Canada’s Agriculture Day, and to help restock food and shelves, the Kitchener Rangers are teaming up with Ontario Pork, The Food Bank of Waterloo Region and Feed Ontario, to hold a food drive and help tackle hunger. On Tuesday, February 13, 2024, as the Rangers host the Guelph Storm, fans are being asked to bring a non-perishable food item to the game. The food will be collected by volunteers from Ontario Pork and Feed Ontario and distributed through The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.
This food drive comes at an important time, as February remains a month when food bank shelves have been depleted during a busy holiday season, but the need continues to grow. The Kitchener Rangers and Ontario Pork are calling on the community to come together and contribute to this vital cause.
Members of the media and the local community are invited to attend a press conference held at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium on February 7th at 1:30 pm to learn more about how the partnership between the Kitchener Rangers and Ontario Pork will make a positive impact on the fight against hunger in the Waterloo Region. Kitchener Rangers Chief Operating Officer Joe Birch will discuss the significance of this collaborative effort along with John de Bruyn, Board Chair, Ontario Pork, Kim Wilhelm, CEO, The Food Bank of Waterloo Region, and Stephanie Ashton-Smith, Director of Development and Partnerships, Feed Ontario.
Join us as we unite for a cause that goes beyond the rink – let’s make this Valentine’s Day game not only a celebration of love but also an opportunity to share that love with those in need.
