Kitchener Rangers mourn the passing of Past President Doug Owen
The Kitchener Rangers wish to extend their sincere sympathies to the family and friends of the late Doug Owen, who passed away on Tuesday at the age of 92.
After being a member of the Navy in World War II, Doug became a bricklayer and worked on many major buildings; the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium included. He would eventually create his own bricklaying firm, Doug Owen Construction.
He built quality homes, condos, office buildings, factories, apartments and subdivisions, but maybe most importantly in 2011, created a lasting contribution to our community by building a beautiful apartment building for low-income seniors on Erb Street called ‘My Owen Place”.
Visitation will continue on Saturday, February 3 from 12:30pm-1:15pm at Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, with the funeral to follow in the chapel at 1:30pm. A reception will be held in the Fireside Reception Room.
Condolences and donations to The Dialysis Unit of Grand River Hospital may be arranged through the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King Street South, Waterloo at www.erbgood.com or (519) 745-8445.
