12 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE TONIGHT’S GAME

1) Tonight marks the third of four meetings of the regular season between the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and Kitchener Rangers. The Greyhounds have won the first two games, 3-2 (Oct. 13) and 8-2 (Nov. 24).
2) The Rangers look to extend their win streak to three games following a 5-4 overtime win vs. Flint last Friday, and a 10-3 win vs. Guelph on Sunday.
3) The Greyhounds enter tonight having won 18 straight games. Their last regulation loss came Oct. 27 at Sarnia (6-3).
4) The Soo has scored 24 more goals than Kitchener, and has surrendered 23 fewer goals in the same number of games (32).
5) Rangers’ alternate captain Adam Mascherin is on a seven-game goal scoring streak, tallying a total of ten goals and 14 points in that span.
6) The Kitchener Rangers home power play is 7th in the OHL, executing at a 25.4% efficiency (15-for-59). Their home penalty kill has dipped to 16th overall at 75.8% (47-for-62).
7) The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds road power play ranks 4th at 27.0% (17-for-63), while their road penalty kill is ranked 9th at 80.7% (46-for-57).
8) Rangers defenceman Logan Stanley was released from Team Canada’s Sport Chek World Junior Selection Camp last night. He will dress for Kitchener in tonight’s game. The Greyhounds will be without Conor Timmins and Boris Katchouk (Waterloo) who are still away at Team Canada’s camp.
9) The Soo has been outshot by opponents seven times this season, and are undefeated in regulation (6-0-1-0) in those seven games.
10) Greyhounds leading scorer Morgan Frost sits third in OHL scoring with 49 points. Adam Mascherin leads the Rangers with 39 points, sitting 12th overall in league scoring.
11) The Greyhounds are 15-0-1-0 when leading after the first period, and 17-0-0-0 when leading after two.
12) The Rangers are 11-0-0-0 when leading after the first period, and 12-1-0-0 when leading after two.
