The two clubs last met on November 10th this season with the Rangers closing the game 4-0. Adrian Misaljevic opened the scoring with two goals both assisted by Matthew Sop. Simon Motew and Tanner Lam also got in on the scoring with a goal each. Matthew Andonovski (Ottawa Senators) and Cameron Mercer each had an assist, while Hunter Brzustewicz (Calgary Flames) had two assists. Jackson Parsons shut the door on all 39 shots sent his way.

Last Time Out:
The Kitchener Rangers are on a three-game win streak after beating Guelph, Mississauga, and most recently Sudbury on Sunday afternoon with a final score of 6-1. Trent Swick opened the scoring followed by goals from Carson Rehkopf (Seattle Kraken – 2G), Matthew Sop (1G, 2A), Hunter Brzustewicz (Calgary Flames – 1G, 1A), and Luke Ellinas (1G). Jackson Parsons was faced with 24 shots allowing one to finish the game with a .955 save percentage.
Rangers to Watch:
- Hunter Brzustewicz (Calgary Flames) hopped on a three-game goal and point streak after scoring a goal and an assist in each of his last three games. The defenceman is leading the Rangers in points and the league in assists with an 11-66-77 stat line.
- Carson Rehkopf (Seattle Kraken) extended his point streak to five games with six goals and three assists for nine points over that time. Rehkopf follows closely behind Brzustewicz with 75 points(43 goals, and 32 assists). Rehkopf has the second most goals, tied for third most power play goals (13), second most game-winning goals (7), and tied for the most insurance goals (6) in the OHL.
- Matthew Sop is third in scoring on the Rangers with 34 goals and 41 assists for 75 points in 54 games. He is fourth in the league for goals, while also having the most game-winning goals with eight. In his last two games, he has registered three goals and two assists.
Goaltending:
- Jackson Parsons has started the Rangers last four games going 3-1. Parsons has played 41 games this season with a 22-14-1-0 record. In his last start on Sunday afternoon against Sudbury he saw 24 shots and only allowed one. The netminder holds a 3.09 goals against average and a .893 save percentage this season.
- Tristan Malboeuf has played 19 games this season with a 12-5-1-0 record. In his appearances, Malboeuf has a 3.49 goals against average and a .865 save percentage. His last start was against the Saginaw Spirit, when he was faced with 36 shots allowing four against to finish the game with a 4.01 goals against average and a .889 save percentage.
SIMON MOTEW
Overage defenceman, Simon Motew is playing in his 200th OHL Career game on Monday afternoon in Peterborough. Motew has been a big part of the Rangers back end over the past four seasons. In his 199 games, Motew has an 18-63-81 stat line, and this season he has eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points. This past fall Motew was invited to the Ottawa Senators camp after his 2022-23 season.

Last Time Out:
The Peterborough Petes travelled to Kingston on Friday to play the Frontenacs where they won 3-2 in overtime. Quinton Pagé grabbed the Petes’ first goal assisted by Nico Addy and Cam Gauvreau. Ryder McIntyre gave the Petes the lead to start the second period. However, they were unable to hold it as the game headed into the extra period. On the first shot in overtime, Chase Lefebvre scored assisted by Tommy Purdeller.
Petes to Watch:
- Jonathan Melee is leading Peterborough in points (40) goals (13) and assists (27). Over the past five games, Melee has three points (1G, 2A). The winger has played three games against Kitchener in his OHL career where he tallied two assists.
- Chase Lefebvre has the second most points, second most goals, and third most assists on the Petes with a 12-19-31 stat line. Lefebvre over the past five games has three goals and two assists for five points, going pointless in one of those games.
- Tommy Purdeller has the third most points on the Petes with eight goals and 21 assists for 29 points. Purdeller also has the most first goals on the team with two. Over the past five games, Purdeller has four assists.
Goaltending:
- Liam Sztuska is leading the Peterborough netminders having played in 37 games registering a 9-20-4-1 record. Sztuska has a 3.82 goals against average and a .906 save percentage, which ranks fourth in the league. In the most recent game against Kingston, Sztuska saw 48 shots allowing two for a 1.98 goals against average and a .958 save percentage.
