Game Preview: Kitchener visits Sarnia on Wednesday for a Midweek Matchup
Sarnia, ON – Following the Rangers’ 8-0 victory on Saturday in Flint, the Blueshirts head to Sarnia to take on the Sting in a midweek game. Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena.

Head- to- Head:
The Rangers and the Sting have played each other 23 times over the past five seasons. In those 23 games, Kitchener holds the overall advantage with a 15-6-0-2 record. Dating back to the 2017-18 season, the Rangers own a 7-3-0-1 advantage when playing on the road in Sarnia. This past season the Sting went undefeated against the Rangers.
The Rangers look to get back in the win column against Sarnia on Wednesday after winning back-to-back games in their opening weekend. They scored a combined total of 12 goals in their last two games. The Sting opened their season with an 8-2 win against Windsor but fell to Saginaw 2-1 in their second game.
Defencemen Carson Campbell will make his return to Sarnia for the first time after Kitchener acquired him on September 18th for two 2026 OHL Priority Selection picks. Campbell played 23 games for the Sting last season as a 16-year-old.
Scouting the Rangers:
In the first two regular season games of the year, winger Adrian Misaljevic has recorded five points (2G, 3A). He received the first star against Flint after a four-point performance (2G, 2A). Hunter Brzustewicz (Vancouver) also had a breakout game in Flint having tallied four assists in the game. Kyle Morey and Matthew Andonovski (Ottawa) both grabbed their first two OHL goals recording a goal in each game. Between the pipes, Jackson Parsons has suited up in the Rangers first two games and has recorded a .952 save percentage with a 1.50 goals-against average. Parsons recorded his first-ever OHL shutout on Saturday night against the Firebirds.
The Rangers earned a spot on the OHL Power Rankings for week one of the OHL regular season placing 15th, this is up two places. Ahead of week one, the Rangers did not make the top 16 list.
Scouting the Sting:
On September 29th the Sting announced their leaders. Cooper Way was named captain along with Easton Wainwright and Marko Sikic as alternate captains. Sarnia started off the regular season with one win and one loss. Tyson Doucette is leading the team with four points (3G, 1A) in their first two games, with three points (2G, 1A) coming in their first game of the year against Windsor. First-year winger Dennis Lominac recorded his first OHL goal and assist in his first OHL game played. Goaltender Nick Surzycia played in the first two games and is sitting at a .937 save percentage and 2.01 goals against average.
Sarnia was busy in the off-season as they only returned 12 players. The Sting have ten first-year players on their roster including their first-round pick from the 2023 OHL Priority Selection Ryan Brown (17th overall) and Roman Kukumberg who was their first-round pick (43rd overall) in the CHL Import Draft. They picked up former Rangers Jabob and Andrew LeBlanc in a trade with Niagara, as well as Daylen Moses in a trade with the Soo.
