FINAL: Rangers 3, Knights 5
The Kitchener Rangers headed to London once again for Game 5 in a tied series. Jackson Parsons gets the start for The Blueshirts after an amazing performance by the rookie goaltender last Tuesday at The Aud.
London scores twice early on in the first period (both goals scored by Max McCue), but Joseph Serpa responds quickly after (Assisted by Reid Valade, Ty Hollett). Parsons once again looks quick and shines during the first. The Rangers are awarded two powerplay opportunities but are unable to capitalize on it despite putting many shots on Brochu. Antonio Stranges adds to the London lead, and we leave the period at 3-1 Knights.
An exciting second period ensues, as Mike Petizian scores twice, but one goal gets called back for going off of his skate. Sean McGurn responds for the Knights but The Rangers don’t let that stand. After going on the powerplay after a scuffle involving Serpa falling into the London net, Carson Rehkopf puts one on Brochu that gets tipped in by Mitchell Martin. We leave the period down one and look to continue the momentum built in the second.
Lots of back-and-forth action to begin the third, as the Rangers look to get the equalizer. The Rangers are able to stop Evangelista on the breakaway just before Parsons comes out of the net for the last few minutes of the third, but McCue scores the empty netter.
The Rangers look to re-tie the series this Tuesday at The Aud at 7 pm. But we need YOU in order to ROCK THE AUD. Get your tickets for Game 6 now.
