FINAL: Rangers 3, Knights 2
The Kitchener Rangers hosted The London Knights at The Aud for game 4 of the 2022 playoffs. After a hard-fought loss, the Rangers were looking to even the series before heading to London for game 5.
Antonino Pugliese started the game off on the right foot, following his own rebound and scoring on Brochu. This had the Rangers leading only three minutes into the game. The Rangers gained a huge momentum boost from the goal, carrying most of the play in the 1st period. Jackson Parsons was also solid, making some nice saves to keep the game 1-0.
Both teams went back and forth in the 2nd period, exchanging scoring chances but neither could find the back of the net. London’s Max McCue solved Parsons on a cross-ice play, tying the game 1-1 with seven minutes left in the period. The Rangers looked to break the tie in the 3rd.
The line of Francesco Pinelli, Adrian Misaljevic, and Navrin Mutter had a great shift six minutes into the final frame. Off the momentum, Francesco Pinelli scored to regain the lead, making it 2-1. Mitchell Martin joined in on the scoring, ripping a shot top shelf past Brochu to extend the lead to 3-1. The Rangers were able to hold off the Knights until they scored a late powerplay goal to make it 3-2. Although the Knights scored late, the Rangers won 3-2. Jackson Parsons stopped 52 of 54 shots he faced in the victory.
Kitchener will head to London with the series tied 2-2. The game takes place on Sunday, May 1st at 2:00 p.m.
