FINAL: Rangers 0, Knights 4
The Kitchener Rangers headed off to face the London Knights for the first time this season. The Rangers are hoping to bounce back from a 6-4 loss to Saginaw on Friday night.
In the first period, both teams shared chances early on, but London would get a powerplay three minutes in. The Rangers were able to kill the penalty off, keeping the game scoreless. The Knights thought they had taken the 1-0 lead, but after a review for offside, the goal was called back. Later, Luke Evangelista scored to give London the 1-0 lead. The Rangers headed into the second period trailing 1-0.
Kitchener started the period on the penalty kill and was unable to kill it off. London would take a 2-0 lead early in the second. Midway through the frame, both teams had exchanged opportunities but no one was able to capitalize. The Rangers were looking for the third-period comeback as they were trailing 2-0.
London’s Max McCue would open the scoring in the third, extending their lead to 3-0. Evangelista would score his second powerplay goal of the night to make it 4-0 London.
London would beat the Rangers by the score of 4-0. Jackson Parsons would stop 36 of 40 shots.
