New York, New York
This summer, I was lucky enough to earn a spot in the New York Rangers Development Camp Roster. We practiced and worked out at the practice facility instead of Madison Square Garden…shucks. But I was still in amazement of the practice facility they have. It is unbelievable!
First day was on and off ice testing and it was HARD work let me tell ya. The rest of the week was workouts and scrimmage every day. When I wasn’t playing my first 2 seasons one of my favourite players to watch was Andrew Yogan and I got the chance to play with him at camp, which was really cool. In a way it put into perspective how far I’ve come.
Henrik Lundqvist was also nice enough to park both his Lamborghini and Maserati in the parking lot of the practice facility so it was nice to look at those everyday. Made quite a few new friends at camp AND got to see an old friend Charlie Dodero who finished his OHL career in Sudbury this past season.
All in all it was an amazing experience from the pro facility to the competitive atmosphere to the Cheese Cake Factory beside the hotel we were at!
