Sun Life and Kitchener Rangers online jersey auction raises over $5,750 for Kids In Gear
The Kitchener Rangers Hockey Club and Sun Life Financial are pleased to announce that over $5,750 was raised during the Kids In Gear Pre-Game Worn Jersey Auction. Fifteen authentic Rangers jerseys, worn by players during the 2013-14 pre-game warm up, were auctioned online between March 17 – 26 and proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Sun Life Financial Kids In Gear program.
“We’re so proud of our community and Sun Life’s spirit when it comes to the Kitchener Rangers and the Kids In Gear program,” said Bill Ramsammy, Assistant Vice-President, Corporate Brand & Marketing, Sun Life Financial. “Through Kids In Gear, the proceeds from this auction will help more children in the community get active and play the sport of hockey.”
“Once again, our fans have answered the call to give back to our community, and we’re proud of their continued support of the Sun Life Financial Kids In Gear program”, says Adriann Kennedy, Community Relations Manager, Kitchener Rangers Hockey Club. “This auction will provide assistance to local players who might grow up to be the next generation of Rangers!”
Kids In Gear assists with the collection and purchase of hockey equipment for youth who need support so they can play our national game. It’s about giving back to the game we all love to play. Monetary proceeds also go to Donna’s Kids, a program run by the Kitchener Minor Hockey Association.
