LAST TIME OUT
The Otters dropped their first game of the week, a 5-1 decision against the Windsor Spitfires on Thursday night. On Friday night, after Erie and the whole hockey world were rocked by the unexpected loss of Jim Waters, the owner of the Otters, the team rallied together for an 8-2 victory with a new team mantra: Play for Jim.
WHO TO WATCH
Sam Alfano has been a force of nature recently. After one assist against the Spitfires and a hat trick at home against the Saginaw Spirit, the overager now leads the team in overall points with 37 and goals with 17 on the season.
Since coming to Erie, Callum Hughes has been nothing short of exceptional. In just eight games played, Hughes has picked up seven points (4G+3A), including two goals and one assist in Saturday’s victory over the Spirit.
KNOW THE FOE
The London Knights won two of their last three games, having split a back-to-back series with the Windsor Spitfires and then beating the Kitchener Rangers 3-2. The Otters’ season series against the Knights is tied up at one apiece, but Wednesday night will be the first time the Otters play London on our turf. Players to watch for the Knights include Jacob Julien, who scored two goals across last week’s three games, and Sam O’Reilly, with one goal against the Rangers and two assists in London’s victory over the Spitfires.
