Otters defeat the Knights 6-2
Eleven Erie Otters got their name on the score sheet in a 6-2 win over divisional rivals, the London Knights.
Riley MacRae got the scoring started for the Otters seven minutes into the game when he tipped in a TJ Fergus shot from the blue line. Erie expanded on their lead when Jake Marchment launched a wrist shot past Tyler Parsons to put the Otters up two.
The Otters boosted their lead to three goals when Dylan Strome banged home a power play goal. Minutes later Evan Bouchard shrunk the Otters advantage to two goals when he picked up his first career goal. With just under three minutes left in the middle frame Strome ripped a shot past Parsons to advance the Otters lead back to three.
Three minutes into the third period Brett Neumann improved the lead to 4-1 when he collected a shorthanded goal. At the midway point in the final period Bouchard picked up his second goal of the game on the power play. Kyle Maksimovich snagged the final goal of the game on the power play to lock up a 6-2 win for Erie.
The Otters are back in Erie Sunday when they face the Mississauga Steelheads at 5:00 p.m.
