Tonight’s the night! The 2015 NHL Entry Draft takes over Sunrise, Florida tonight with coverage beginning at 6:30pm on Rogers Sportsnet. One London Knight to look out for in the early first round of the Draft is Knights leading scorer Mitchell Marner.
Marner, a 5’11”, 164 lbs forward, was drafted by the Knights in the 1st round (19th overall) of the 2013 OHL Priority Selection. The Thornhill, Ontario native had a very dominant season with the Knights this year earning himself CHL Player of the Month recognition in November and being named Western Conference Smartest Player in the 2015 OHL Coaches Poll.
This past season Marner put up 44 goals and 82 assists, for a total of 126 points in 63 games, which was good enough to make Marner the leading scorer for the Knights this season and finish second in the OHL to Erie’s Dylan Strome.
