MARK HUNTER NAMED ASSISTANT COACH FOR BMO CHL/NHL TOP PROSPETS GAME

LONDON, ONTARIO: The Canadian Hockey League announced today that London Knights General Manager Mark Hunter has been added as an assistant coach for Team Cherry for the upcoming BMO CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game hosted by the Calgary Hitmen on Wednesday, January 15, 2014.

Hunter has a decorated coaching background having been the head coach of the Sarnia Sting, the St. John’s Maple Leafs and most recently the 2012 OHL Championship London Knights.  He currently joins his brother Dale on the bench for the London Knights – looking after the defensemen alongside assistant coach Jeff Paul.  Hunter played in 628 NHL games over 12 seasons including 133 games with the Flames from 1988-91 where he won a Stanley Cup in 1989. 

The full Team Cherry coaching staff includes head coach Jim Peplinski with assistants Paul Reinhart, Mark Hunter, and Nick Kypreos, while Team Orr coaches include head coach Tim Hunter with assistants Mike Vernon, Joel Otto, and Doug MacLean.
