FROM INSIDE THE CASTLE WALLS ¦ A KNIGHTS WEEKLY UPDATE
Previous Games
London Knights defeat the Ottawa 67’s 5-3
There was no fatigue from travelling as both teams came out flying and hungry for the first goal of the game. Chris Tierney would notch the Knights first of the game following up on a Mitch Marner wrister. Ottawa got one of their own late in the frame to deadlock the affair at 1 apiece after 20 minutes. The second period would see the 67’s pull ahead by a score of 3-1. With the win on the line, the last 20 minutes showed this squad’s true colours. Josh Anderson got things rolling, sniping one high glove on Ottawa’s netminder. Alex Basso, Mitch Marner and Bo Horvat would add the insurance markers to seal the victory and first 2 points of the road trip.
London Knights defeat the Kingston Frontenacs 4-2
Showing no signs of fatigue, Bo Horvat hooked up with Josh Anderson to give the team a one goal lead only 40 seconds into the tilt. Chris Tierney would add the boys’ second of the night shorthanded as he streaked in and fired one past the Frontenacs netminder. The second frame would see more of the same as Christian Dvorak finished a great back door feed from Mitch Marner on the PP to re-establish the Knights 2 goal margin. The Frontenacs would battle back in the third but the boys in green and gold would prove to be too much. Josh Anderson would add an empty netter to solidify the win and another 2 points on the Eastern swing.
London Knights defeat the Belleville Bulls 6-3
The boys came out of the gate all cylinders firing. McCarron got the first of the game finishing off a great centering feed from overage defenseman Alex Basso. Brett Welychka would extend the lead to two goals firing home a one-timer feed from Bo Horvat. McCarron would add to his evening total on a great two-man rush with fellow rookie Christian Dvorak. The second frame saw the Bulls come back with a barrage of chances, however they only added one marker to make the score 3-2 through 40 minutes. The final frame would see the Knights get back to their dominating ways with two goals from Max Domi and one from Ryan Rupert. Belleville would add another tally at the 13-minute mark but would fall short giving the Knights their 5th and 6th points of the road trip.
