PETERBOROUGH BOUND – KNIGHTS VS. PETES PREVIEW
By: Johnny Cane
The London Knights (21-4-2-3) are in Peterborough tonight to take on the Pete’s (15-11-1-3) for the 2nd time this season.
The Knights’ high-flying offense led them to a 6-3 victory at home over the Petes in the first outing. The Knights will have their hands full tonight against a confident Pete’s hockey club riding a 5-game winning streak.
Defenseman Matthew Timms leads the Petes with 29 points in 30 games, including a whopping 13 power play assists, good enough for 3rd in the league in that department.
The top line for London will have to continue it’s production if they are going to outscore the Petes, who have tallied at least 5 goals in their last 4 straight games, while only allowing 10 goals against in that span.
Cliff Pu continues to lead the Knights in points with 47 (21G, 26A), while Janne Kuokkanen trails him with 40 (15G, 25A), in 28 games respectively.
The Knights will look to build off a strong performance last Sunday where they sailed to a 6-2 victory over the visiting Kitchener Rangers.
The Knights return home on Friday, December 16th to take on the Guelph Storm; puck drop scheduled for 7:30pm. Tickets for Friday’s game can be purchased in person at the Aluminum Associates London Knights Armoury, at the OMAC Mortgages London Knights Box Office, over the phone by calling 519-681-0800 EXT. 1, or by CLICKING HERE.
