Sportsnet Features Former IceDogs Forward Shayne Rover

Joining the IceDogs in the 2008-2009 season, Shayne Rover quickly became a staple on the ‘Dogs blueline. Known for his shutdown style of defense, Rover faced many of the league’s top forwards. In his final year, Rover set personal records for total points accumulated in a season with 27 (8 goals, 19 assists), having combined for 18 points in his previous four seasons.

Taking advantage of the CHL Education Package, Rover has recently completed his fourth year at York University. He’s played for the Lions, for the past four seasons, while majoring in Kinesiology and Health Sciences. In 111 games played with York, Rover has 46 points (14 goals, 32 assists).
