GAMEDAY PREVIEW | IceDogs finish 5-game road stand in Kitchener
The Niagara IceDogs are in Kitchener tonight in the final stop of their 5-game road trip! Tonight marks the second and final game of the season series between these two teams, and the ‘Dogs will be looking to even the score after dropping a 6-0 loss in January.
The ‘Dogs are being led on the scoresheet by Sam Miletic, who was recently named the OHL’s Player of the Month. Miletic who picked up a goal last night currently sits 4th in league scoring with 72 points on the season. He ranks just above Rangers’ leading scorer Adam Mascherin, who has 70 points. He also ranks 3rd in league assists, with 46. Despite the powerplay having struggled earlier in the 2nd half of the season, the ‘Dogs have scored big powerplay goals, in the past four games. Kirill Maksimov and Danial Singer lead the team in powerplay goals scored, with 11, while Akil Thomas continues to rank at the top of the league with 5th most powerplay assists, with 20. Kirill Maksimov continues to rank in the top 5 of league insurance goals, with 5 on the season.
The ‘Dogs will be facing a very good Kitchener team, who made many big acquisitions at the deadline to be playoff ready. In their last 5 games, the Rangers are 4-1, most recently coming off a 6-3 loss in Owen Sound.
Tonight’s game will be broadcast live on 610 CKTB, YourTV Niagara, and OHL Live.
