IceDogs Looking to Even Season Series Against Mississauga
Tonight, the Niagara IceDogs will be facing off against the Mississauga Steelheads, for the third time this season. With the series tilted slightly in Mississauga’s favour, the ‘Dogs are looking to even it up at home in front of the loud Meridian Centre crowd.
The Steelheads are currently on a three game winning streak.
Steelheads right winger, Calvin Martin, of the Mississauga Steelheads is currently on a 7 game point streak, picking up 3 goals and 5 assists in that time. Starting the season with the Sarnia Sting, Martin has made the transition seamlessly and is 9 points away from breaking his season high points record.
Lucas Theriault has been a solid and reliable forward for the IceDogs all season. Theriault scored one of his 4 goals this season against the Steelheads in November. As a rookie, Theriault is dominating in the faceoff dot by winning 47% of his draws this season and has been over 50% in 5 of the last 7.
Since the trade deadline earlier this month, IceDogs Head Coach Billy Burke has been alternating goaltenders. Christian Sbaraglia got the start last Sunday, so it is likely that Andrew MacLean will be between the pipes tonight.
