IceDogs Look to Keep Rolling with Increased Offense Throughout the Lineup
After a thrilling overtime win on the road for the Niagara IceDogs, they are returning home to take on the Kitchener Rangers. The Rangers are 20-11-2-2 on the season and are on a 3 game winning streak. Comparatively, the IceDogs are 5-4-1-0 in their last ten and are starting to see the young players confidence grow.
The IceDogs are still without captain Akil Thomas and forward Kyen Sopa, as they are still with their respective National Junior teams across the pond. Team Canada and Thomas will be taking on Finland in the World Juniors semi-finals this afternoon.
The IceDogs could be facing off against a hot goaltender, Jacob Ingham. Ingham was just recently recognized as the OHL goaltender of the month for December. The Los Angeles prospect turned heads earning a record of 9-1-0-0 in that time frame and receiving 1st star honours in 3 of those contests. With Ingham closing the back door, the Rangers have moved up to 5th in the Western Conference.
The IceDogs’ offense has come to life to kick off 2020. In the first game of the year, Mason Howard scored his first OHL hat trick, with the third goal being the overtime winner. Last game was also a memorable one for forward Ivan Lodnia as he has a record high night with 2 goals and 4 assists. The young ‘Dogs also continued to contribute with Cameron Snow recording his 3rd goal of the season and Ethan Sims picking up two assists.
Josh Rosenzsweig picked up his first win in North Bay on Thursday night, although it is unconfirmed as to whether he or Christian Sbaraglia will be in net tonight.
