IceDogs Alumni Andrew Fritsch Hired as Assistant Coach
Niagara, ON – The Niagara IceDogs have announced Andrew Fritsch as Assistant Coach ahead of the 2022-23 season.
Fans should be excited to see Fritsch back in Niagara, who was drafted to the IceDogs in 2009 and played his rookie season with us. He went on to win an OHL championship with the Owen Sound Attack and was drafted to the NHL by the Arizona Coyotes, both in 2011.
Since hanging up his skates as a player, Fritsch has been a development coach under his company F7hockey. He has taken on a development/skills coach role for the Branford 99er’s (Jr.A) and Laurier University (USports). Fritsch is also a head coach in minor midget AAA.
“Andrew’s attention to detail and energy makes him one of the best player development coaches around. Our players will definitely benefit from his experience, knowledge, and coaching style” said recently appointed Head Coach, Daniel Fitzgerald.
Welcome aboard, Andrew!
