GAMEDAY PREVIEW | IceDogs return home to host Attack

The Niagara IceDogs return home Friday night to host the Owen Sound Attack. Tonight closes the ‘Dogs season series against Owen Sound. When these two teams previously met in November, the ‘Dogs nearly completed the 2-goal comeback, when they fell in a shootout on the road.

The ‘Dogs are being led on the scoresheet by Sam Miletic, who’s 76 points on the season sits 4th in league-wide scoring. Sam Miletic also ranks 5th in the league with 48, while Akil Thomas ranks 2nd on the team with 47. Despite the powerplay having games of inconsistency, a pair of Danial Singer powerplay goals on Saturday gave him the team lead in powerplay goals scored, with 13. Meanwhile Akil Thomas continues to rank at the top of the league with 5th most powerplay assists, with 21. The ‘Dogs powerplay will need to be at its best tonight as it faces two of the top shorthanded goal scorers in the league, Maksim Sushko and Nick Suzuki. Kirill Maksimov continues to rank in the top 5 of league insurance goals, with 5 on the season.

It is likely ‘Dogs fans can expect Stephen Dhillon to make a return between the pipes in tonights game after have a week without games.
