GAMEDAY PREVIEW: IceDogs Host Autism Awareness Night vs Ottawa 67s
The Niagara IceDogs are set to host the Ottawa 67s in the first Autism Awareness Night, where the ‘Dogs will be wearing specialty jersey that will be auctioned off post-game in-arena, and online.
After defeating the defending Eastern Conference Champions Steelheads on Friday night, the ‘Dogs will be coming out looking for more tonight. Long-time eastern conference rivals 67s are always a tough competitor. The IceDogs will be lead by assistant captains Akil Thomas, who ranks in the top 10 of league assists (with 10 – 7 of which came on the power play, leading the league), Ben Jones, who currently leads the league in powerplay goals, with 5 on the season. Kirill Makismov ranks 3rd in powerplay goals, with 4. Stephen Dhillon’s 7 wins of the season is the 2nd most in the league by one goalie thus far. The 67s will also face one of the toughest special teams in the league, as the ‘Dogs powerplay and penalty kill is in the top 5 of efficiency league-wide
