1) This afternoon marks the final game in our annual Michigan trip to play the Spirit and Firebirds, and the first time we will play either team this season.
2) Last season against the Firebirds, we won the series with a 6-4 win in December, and an 8-2 win in March
3) In 2017-2018, against Flint, Matthew Philip, Bradey Johnson and Ben Jones each scored 3 goals.
4) Kirill Maksimov is ranked eighth in the league with 11 goals, 6 of which coming on the powerplay, tied with Hamilton’s Arthur Kaliev to lead the league. Maksimov’s 19 points on the season is ranked 16th in the league.
5) Akil Thomas ranks sixth in the league with 14 assists, 6 of which have come on the powerplay. Akil’s 21 points on the season is ranked 13th in the league.
6) The IceDogs have the 7th ranked away powerplay, with 20.8% efficiency, and the 18th ranked away penalty kill, with a 70.4% efficiency rating.
7) Firebirds’ home power play ranks 17th with 8.3% efficiency, while their home penalty kill is ranked 20th with 61.3% efficiency.
8) Firebirds’ forward, and Dallas Stars prospect, Ty Dellandrea leads the team with 11 point this season.
9) The Firebirds played their first game under recently appointed Head Coach last night.In last nights’ game, the Firebirds picked up their first point of the season, in an overtime loss to the Sarnia Sting.
10) This afternoon mark the final game in a 3 in 3 weekend for the Firebirds, while the IceDogs are playing their second game in as many days today.
After a road trip visiting both Michigan teams this weekend, the ‘Dogs come back to town on Thursday November 1st, playing the first of a home and home against the Mississauga Steelheads.
