IceDogs Complete Regular Season with Visit to Mississauga
The IceDogs travel to the Hershey Centre this afternoon for a matinee tilt with the Steelheads as the 2016-2017 regular season comes to a close. The ‘Dogs come into this game looking to carry over the positives from last night’s game against Sudbury. You can look for the ‘Dogs to get pucks deep and work a strong cycle.
Featured in tonight’s game is 2017 NHL top prospect, Owen Tippett. The Peterborough, ON native has been a nightmare for opposing goaltenders this season, tallying 44 goals and 30 assists for a total of 74 points in 58 games this season. Heavily regarded as a sniper, Tippett approaches the game with a ‘shoot-first’ mentality. Having said that, IceDogs goaltender Stephen Dhillon will have to be equal to the task.
This game features 2014 OHL priority draft pick Josh Dame, from Mississauga, ON. Dame’s been buzzing around the net looking to help his team succeed, and especially recently, he has been getting quality shots. Known for playing more of a defensive style game, Dame has been used to help shut down some of the leagues more dominant players. Undoubtedly, his high compete level will be a necessity for the ‘Dogs to be successful this afternoon.
This afternoon’s game will be broadcasted live on Cogeco TV Niagara (Channel 10 or 700 in HD) or on 610 CKTB, the IceDogs radio network.
