Generals Awards Winners for 2010-2011
The Oshawa Generals wrapped up their 2010/2011 season with their Annual Awards Ceremony on Thursday night at the Quality Hotel and Conference Centre in Oshawa.
There were twelve team awards handed out throughout the night with Christian Thomas and Boone Jenner being the biggest winners of the night, each winning three awards.
The Generals also were able to recognize the three overage players who wrapped up their OHL careers this season.
Peter Di Salvo spent just half a season with the Generals after he was acquired in December but he made a lasting impact and was a key contributor to the team’s playoff run. The native of Oakville, ON played 36 games with the Generals posting a 3.11 GAA with a .911 save % and a 22-8-4-1 record this season.
Alain Berger was the Generals first round CHL Import Draft selection back in 2009 and in his two seasons with the team he made a lasting impact on and off the ice and was clearly a fan favourite. He was recently signed by the Montreal Canadiens after scoring 48 goals and 37 assists for 85 points in 109 career regular season games with the Generals.
Tony DeHart came to Oshawa in a trade three seasons ago and was key part of the Generals blueline ever since. He was an OHL All-Star last season and parlayed that strong season into being drafted by the New York Islanders at last year’s NHL Entry Draft. In 190 regular season games with the Generals, the Ballwin, Missouri native scored 21 goals and 86 assists for 107 points.
