Round 3 Game 2: Generals look to earn series lead by 2
Oshawa, Ont., – The Oshawa Generals and the North Bay Battalion face off in Game Two of the Eastern Conference Finals after the Gens took Game One.
Oshawa was able to battle back in Game One after a slow start to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Stuart Rolofs struck twice while Luca Marrelli scored his first career playoff goal.
North Bay came out hot in the first game, but it was not enough to take down the Oshawa Generals. The Battalion got goals from Sandis Vilmanis, adding to his playoff lead in points and Dalyn Wakely who increased his lead in playoff goals.
Game One
Oshawa erased an early deficit to take down the North Bay Battalion 4-2 in Game One of the series.
After the Battalion opened up a 2-0 lead in the first period, Rolofs would respond with a pair of goals to bring the Gens level.
In the third period, it was Oshawa defenceman Marrelli firing a shot that found its way into the net for his first career playoff goal giving the Gens their first lead of the game.
It was Connor Lockhart giving the Gens some insurance when he was able to find the empty net and make it 4-2.
Player to Watch (Oshawa)
Stuart Rolofs: The Oshawa Generals captain was the catalyst the Gens needed in Game One, striking twice for his second and third goals of the playoffs. Rolofs has seven points in 11 games so far this postseason including three goals and four assists.
Player to Watch (North Bay)
Sandis Vilmanis: The North Bay Battalion right-winger is leading the league in points this postseason picking up 17 in 10 games with six goals and 11 assists. Vilmanis is currently riding a four-game point streak after getting on the board in Game One.
