Oshawa trade Stewart to Barrie for Punnett
Oshawa, Ont., – The Oshawa Generals announce they have acquired overage defenceman, Connor Punnett, from the Barrie Colts, in exchange for Generals’ overage defenceman, Thomas Stewart, a 2025 3rd-round pick, and a 2027 6th-round pick.
Punnett, the Powassan, Ont., native, was originally drafted by the Saginaw Spirit as the 19th overall pick in the first round of the 2019 OHL Priority Selection before being traded to Barrie in 2020. In 215 games under his OHL belt, Punnett has 96 points with 25 goals and 71 assists. In 15 playoff games, he has scored 1 goal and 3 assists for 4 points with the Colts.
Stewart departs Oshawa after two and a half seasons with the Generals. In his Generals career, Stewart played 155 games, scoring 10 goals and 28 assists from the backend with a total of 38 points.
