The scoring opened after the Generals got caught up on their end after a breakout was interrupted and Knights’ Max McCue found Sam O’Reilly in the crease who sent it across to the backdoor to Ruslan Gazizov.
27 seconds into an Oshawa penalty kill, London capitalized when Halttunen sent a wrist shot through traffic to make the score 2-0.

McCue got the eighth goal after hitting the Michigan over Oster’s shoulder.
A shot from Ben Danford at the point and the Oshawa Generals broke Simpson’s opportunity for a shutout to wrap up the second 8-1.
Noah Bender swapped with Oster to begin the third.
Cowan took a one-timer slapshot on another 5v3 in favour of the Knights which went straight to the back of the Oshawa net for 9-1.
